Installation & Activation

System Requirements

Before installing, confirm your machine meets the minimum requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 (version 1803) or later, 64-bit
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum
  • Disk: 200 MB for installation
  • Runtime: WebView2 (included with Windows 10 1803+)
  • Display: 1280×720 minimum, 1920×1080 recommended

Installing JuturnaReport

  1. Download the installer (JuturnaReport_x64-setup.exe) from the download page.
  2. Run the installer. You do not need administrator rights for most configurations, but the installer targets C:\Program Files\Juturna Labs\JuturnaReport\ by default.
  3. Follow the installation prompts and launch JuturnaReport when complete.

The application installs a single executable with no external runtime dependencies beyond WebView2, which ships with modern Windows.

First Launch: Setting Your Master Password

On first launch, JuturnaReport prompts you to create a master password. This password encrypts the local database (SQLCipher) — all client data, findings, and report content are protected by it.

  1. Enter a strong master password in the Master Password field.
  2. Confirm the password in the Confirm Password field. A password strength indicator is shown.
  3. Click Create Account.

Saving Your Backup Code

After creating the master password, JuturnaReport displays a one-time backup code. This code is your only recovery option if you forget your master password.

  • Click the copy button to copy the code to your clipboard.
  • Store it securely — a password manager, encrypted note, or printed copy in a safe location.
  • Check the “I’ve saved my backup code” checkbox to enable the Continue button.

If you lose both your master password and your backup code, your data cannot be recovered. The encryption key is derived locally and is not stored or escrowed by Juturna Labs.

License Activation

After setting your master password, the License Activation screen appears.

  1. Paste your license key into the License Key field.
  2. Click Activate.

JuturnaReport contacts the LemonSqueezy licensing API to validate your key and register this machine. A working internet connection is required for initial activation.

License storage: The activated license is stored machine-wide at C:\ProgramData\Juturna Labs\JuturnaReport\. All Windows users on the machine share the same license record.

If activation fails, an error banner appears with the reason (invalid key, activation limit reached, network error). See License Activation & Deactivation for troubleshooting.

Unlocking on Subsequent Launches

Each launch presents the Unlock screen:

  • Enter your Master Password and press Enter or click Unlock.
  • If you’ve forgotten your password, click Use Backup Code and enter the backup code you saved during setup.

Offline Use

JuturnaReport is designed for offline and air-gapped environments. After initial license activation, the app operates fully offline. If the license cannot be verified online, a 30-day offline grace period applies before the app requires re-verification.

See Managing Machine Activations for details on the activation limit and offline behavior.
